in Kitty News!

Who cares about the bail out and unethical morons getting an hand out when they likely railed against it for others...or some dolled up false image getting too much press...but I digress...

So Kitty is now at the Berkeley No Kill Shelter. I seriously woke up at 5am today thinking about whether or not to adopt her. But decided not to. Why? Well first of all, this cat is totally adoptable. She will go from Shelter fast. Why? Well she is friendly, will jump on lap of a potential family and they will melt. It's the shy ones who don't go as fast. Berkeley Shelter has a good adopt rate. Plus this is a sassy adorable cat. And would likely be sorta alpha over my mellow Sammy cat. I put them together briefly and I don't see it happening. So I took her over to Jackie and Alan's this morning. They volunteer over at the Bruns too and will take her to the shelter today when they do their usual volunteering. But Kitty got food, pets and a warm bath and place to sleep for a couple of days. And I enjoyed it too, although my place is an absolute mess now. I gotta clean tomorrow.

Working tonight at the theater, will it rain? It looks possible.

On world front, well ok, do the damn bail out. Ok we gotta. But can't someone do like what they do to Malvolio in Twelfth Night and give these hypocrites a lesson in humility? Ok, I'm a dreamer... And the Palen thing, please...ok she didn't flub up like a high schooler at her prom...but face it, is that a WIN?

Cat Updates

So i picked up the little stray kitty from the Bruns theater in Orinda last night. She was pretty easy to get into the carrier. Some of the stage hands had been feeding her so wanted to say goodbye. That was cute, people cared. So I got her home and got her set up ready, new litter box etc. I fed her and she wolfed it all down. Later a short bath, which she did great at. No claws etc. Then she crashed on my lap while my cat was outside, I can't let them mix cause of disease potentials. of course now I am considering adopting this cat...sigh some people saw that coming. She's a very sweet cat. Don't know what to do.

on another note, after a staff meeting this morning, I am now convinced higher education is really about space as in rooms and fighting for rooms..., and catering. Supporting all the local catering companies. The rest is incidental. Oh there is some research too.

Further Adventures in Further Adventure

So a week or so ago a cat appeared at the Bruns theater. We aren't sure if it's a he or she. But very friendly and obviously been someone's pet. Probably dumped. So we have been putting word out to find it a home. This pic is not of kitty but sorta what she looks like. Anyways, well I did a lot of phoning around, to find out options. The No Kill shelter in Oakland isn't taking cats. And Feral Cat Foundation isn't either. but a volunteer at the Bruns works at the Berkeley Shelter, also no kill and can take the cat there. I am going to take the cat home, she can live in my bathroom and then on Friday I am taking her to the volunteer's house. Let's see how Sammy cat at home will like this? Probably not but it's only a few days. I am going to give it a bath too since it's been living up there. And de-flea it etc. So THAT ought to be interesting....
